Yoga the perfect compliment to skiing!
It’s the perfect way to combine two activities in one weekend!

Yoga helps cultivate these qualities. Think of yoga as insurance against injury; it prevents injury by addressing your body’s imbalances and fostering both strength and flexibility. Yoga encourages focus on the breath, which is the starting point for managing fear or a tense physical body. By being able to concentrate on your breathing, transitioning your movements with grace, and cultivating an awareness of body balance and alignment, any level of skier will get more out of their time on the mountain and be less injury-prone.

Elise Miller
Elise Browning Miller, M.A. in Therapeutic Recreation from UNC-CH, is a Certified Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher who has been teaching yoga throughout the US and internationally for over 30 years. Elise is an avid athlete. When she is not teaching yoga, Elise spends her time cycling, swimming, hiking, and skiing.
Elise is also a founding director of California Yoga Center in Mountain View, CA. She has published numerous articles on scoliosis and other yoga related subjects in Yoga Journal and other national magazines. Elise has studied on numerous occasions with the Iyengars in India and specializes in Scoliosis, lower/upper back problems and sports related injuries. She has also recently produced her own DVD and booklets, "Yoga for Scoliosis", the "Yoga for Back Care" booklet, and a new addition of her book, "Yoga: Anytime, Anywhere". Her joyous personality and ease of communication endear her to students with a teaching style that is down-to-earth, precise and nurturing.

Trip Length
Thursday: Arrive to Taos, New Mexico and enjoy the enchanting and historic charm of San Geronimo Lodge Inn.
Friday: Free day. First yoga class begins at 5pm so there is time to ski all day! Dinner will follow. Additional activities may be scheduled with the help of the Lodge.
Saturday: Full day of yoga classes. Lunch will be served at 12:30PM
Sunday: 7am-8am yoga class. Get warmed-up for the morning on the mountain! Our yoga class will focus on strengthening and stretching in preparation for skiing. We’ll meet again at 7PM for our farewell dinner.
Monday: Depart or continue your stay at San Geronimo Lodge!
